The MU School of Law offers a collegial environment, reinforced by a small student body and a low faculty-student ratio. The intimacy of this setting, coupled with reasonable cost, consistently high bar passage rates, a network of alumni around the globe and access to top scholars in the legal world, make MU Law one of the best values in the nation.
Hello! My name is Ashley Cross, and I am a 3L. A short time ago, I stood in your shoes—anxious, excited, and full of questions! In Spring 2010, I graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri with a degree in English Literature. I am a first-generation college graduate.
I chose Mizzou Law for several reasons. Mizzou Law offers a lot of opportunities that others do not. For instance, students at Mizzou Law have convenient access to Missouri’s capital, which provides an opportunity for real world legal and legislative experiences. Practical application is emphasized through moot court competitions, clinics, and organizations. I also chose Mizzou Law because of its affordability. This aspect is particularly important in attracting nontraditional students—adults in the workforce looking for a new start, single moms, minorities, and kids from lower income families. I admire that. Finally, Mizzou offers a great college atmosphere—whether it be by cheering on the Tigers, playing Ultimate Frisbee at the base of the columns, biking on the MKT Trail, or grabbing a bite to eat at Shakespeare’s.
My law school experience is unique because I am married—to another 3L! I have learned (very quickly!) how to deal with law school stress and the continuance of a growing relationship, and I would love to answer questions you might have in this or any other matter!
