The MU School of Law offers a collegial environment, reinforced by a small student body and a low faculty-student ratio. The intimacy of this setting, coupled with reasonable cost, consistently high bar passage rates, a network of alumni around the globe and access to top scholars in the legal world, make MU Law one of the best values in the nation.
Hello, my name is Ki'ara Cross and I am originally from St. Louis, MO. I received my BA in Political Science from Truman State University in 2011 and I am currently a 2L here at the law school. Attending law school has always been something I wanted to do, but where I wanted to attend was something I had not considered. There were various things I considered when deciding what school to attend and Mizzou had them all.
This school is very affordable especially if you are an in-state resident and if not, there are ways in which you can establish residency. Also, the school further helps with financial assistance through the many scholarships it grants to the incoming students. Student’s here are able to receive a quality education allowing them to compete in the legal field with other law schools, but at an affordable price. Location was a factor for me as well. Columbia is a big city that has plenty to do, but is small enough not to be distracting. The college town atmosphere is very beneficial to students who are focused on their studies, as most law students are, but who also enjoy breaks. Lastly the school takes a genuine interest in meeting its students' needs. If there are any problems, concerns, or if you just need someone to talk to there is normally always someone here willing to help you.
Attending Mizzou has been the most beneficial life changing experience I have had thus far. It has helped me grow as a person and has taught me things I am sure will help me in life. I do not regret my decision in attending this school and these things that helped me in my decision making process proved to be even better once I got to experience them in person. I recommend that you visit campus and experience some of these things for yourself because I can tell you about it, but you will ultimately have to decide if his school is right for you. Please send me an email if you have any questions.
