Hello prospective students and future colleagues, my name is Erin Denson. I am currently in the midst of my first year at the University of Missouri School of Law, and was born and raised here in Columbia, Mo.
While obtaining my undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Missouri, I was a member of the Alpha Delta chapter of Gamma Phi Beta amongst other student and academic memberships, a collegiate dancer, a professional cheerleader and a community/charity volunteer. Being able to balance my academic career with my extracurricular activities was challenging, but has well prepared me for the academic rigor and dedication that succeeding in law school requires.
After receiving my BA in 2004, I briefly lived in Atlanta before traveling throughout the United States and Europe. My intent had always been to attend law school, but I wanted to wait until I was ready to fully dedicate myself to my future career. After taking a graduate level writing course with the School of Journalism at Mizzou, an LSAT prep course and a 1 ½ year internship as a research assistant with the New York Times, I decided that I was ready to apply to law school.
I fully understand the importance of selecting a law school that suits your needs and the numerous factors that will lead to your ultimate decision. My experience with the University of Missouri School of Law has been unmatched. The experience, knowledge, diversity, accessibility and professionalism that embodies our staff, faculty and student body is what made me decide that Mizzou Law was the only place that I would consider pursuing my legal studies.
The faculty and administration sincerely want us to succeed, and that support truly makes for a great law school experience. I welcome you to visit and experience Mizzou Law. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. Good luck!
