My name is Jessie and I am a third year law student here at Mizzou. I chose MU Law School for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, Mizzou has an excellent reputation, not only in the state of Missouri, but also on a national level. Also, having talked to older students before I made my decision (and now having experienced it), it was apparent to me that Mizzou strikes an excellent balance between challenging academics and fostering camaraderie among students. Finally, I chose Mizzou because the university and the city of Columbia are not only excellent places in which to learn, but also to take advantage of the unique opportunities available to students in a “college town.” As Mizzou students we are able to enjoy a wonderful law school building in the middle of a beautiful campus; a campus which is home to Big 12 athletics, a brand new Student Rec Complex and an exciting downtown within walking distance of the law school.
Going to Mizzou was also a great decision for me because I am a huge Tigers fan! I love going to football and basketball games, and living in Columbia allows me to keep up with my favorite teams (when I'm not studying, of course!).
