The MU School of Law offers a collegial environment, reinforced by a small student body and a low faculty-student ratio. The intimacy of this setting, coupled with reasonable cost, consistently high bar passage rates, a network of alumni around the globe and access to top scholars in the legal world, make MU Law one of the best values in the nation.

Hello, I am Kate Gallen and I am a 3L from St. Louis. I graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO in 2008. While there, I was an active member of both campus and community life. I was a member of a social sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, and an honor fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi. I also tutored at Ray Miller Elementary and Mary Immaculate Catholic School. While I knew that I eventually wanted to pursue an education in Law, I took two years off from being a student to teach with Teach For America in St. Louis, where I was a high school special educator. Teaching solidified my desire to go to law school so that I can approach solving educational inequality from a different standpoint.
When I was ready to return to school, I knew that Mizzou was the right choice. Upon visiting, the staff was so inviting and helpful, I felt like I belonged right away. Everyone was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions and quelled any concerns I had. I was looking for a school with study abroad options, small class sizes and affordable tuition. Mizzou fit the criteria, but added the value of great faculty and staff, a supportive environment and a wide variety of organizations to appeal to diverse career and personal interests. At the end of the day, I am getting a great legal education and I know that I have the support I need to reach my career goals of working on education issues.
Please email me if you have any questions about Mizzou or Columbia.
