The MU School of Law offers a collegial environment, reinforced by a small student body and a low faculty-student ratio. The intimacy of this setting, coupled with reasonable cost, consistently high bar passage rates, a network of alumni around the globe and access to top scholars in the legal world, make MU Law one of the best values in the nation.
Hi! I’m Stephanie Liu, a 3L at Mizzou Law. I’m from La Canada, California and received my undergraduate degree from UCLA, where I was involved with Greek Life and other various student organizations. After graduation, I spent a year working at a Los Angeles law firm, as well as volunteering at a family law legal aid clinic.
Many people have asked why I came to Missouri from California. Having been raised as the daughter of an avid Mizzou alum, I had always heard about how great the university was but never experienced it myself. That all changed when I came to visit for a week and was just blown away by how welcoming the students and staff at Mizzou were. I had definitely heard the horror stories about how competitive law school was, and although every student at Mizzou wants to do his or her best, everyone still supports one another and really works together to make these three years of law school some of the most memorable years.
I came to Mizzou because I could really picture myself succeeding and achieving my goals here. Although I was initially worried about the adjustment coming from an out-of-state school, it hasn’t been a problem at all. There are so many different opportunities to interact with other students and become involved with the school that I already feel so at home at Mizzou. Please feel free to contact me – I’d love to answer any of your questions! (Except the ones about Columbia winters…I’m still getting used to cold weather!)
