Greetings prospective students, my name is D’Juan Neal. I am a third year law student and I grew up in Massachusetts, Maryland and Georgia. I am also a former college athlete. I began my college athletic career at Old Dominion University in Norfolk VA, and finished at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA where I earned my BS in Industrial Engineering Technology.
As a non-traditional student, I knew I needed to be in a learning environment where my life experience would help cultivate the classroom. MU is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that embraces the individual differences among the students as well as the faculty. My colleagues and professors have allowed me to play an integral role in enhancing an already talented and diverse student body. The small class size allows you to never feel forgotten (although at times you wish the Professor would forget your last name to avoid being called on in class!)
Selecting the perfect law school can be a very stressful and frustrating process. Location of the school, housing, the distance from family, desired practice areas, available clinics, financial aid, and job opportunities during school and after graduation are just a few of the factors used in the balancing act of law school selection. With all this in mind, the Mizzou staff an admissions office is honest, warm, and enthusiastic about the individual student and their law school experience. The staff in 103 (as you will come to know and identify the admissions office), are warm, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile to see you reach your goals.
I can tell you all about moving from east coast to the Midwest. The University of Missouri has made my transition as smooth as can be expected. If you are feeling uneasy, nervous, or downright terrified - relax its normal! Feel free to email me if you have any questions or if you just need an additional perspective.
