The MU School of Law offers a collegial environment, reinforced by a small student body and a low faculty-student ratio. The intimacy of this setting, coupled with reasonable cost, consistently high bar passage rates, a network of alumni around the globe and access to top scholars in the legal world, make MU Law one of the best values in the nation.

Hello, my name is Katherine Sheffield, and I am a 2L. I am originally from Rolla, Missouri. I graduated with a major in Political Science and a minor in Spanish from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May 2011. During my undergraduate career, I participated in collegiate and club sports, was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta, studied abroad in Spain, and volunteered locally with children and recent immigrants in the Columbia community. I am most interested in Criminal, Family, and International Law.
While the financial incentives of attending an in-state school were a great incentive, my choice to attend Mizzou Law was solidified by the community-oriented atmosphere that the students and faculty exhibit. While competition is a given, the friendly, helpful, and educational environment that exists here at Mizzou Law is a strong indicator of not only a successful law school, but a school that will adequately prepare students to become successful lawyers, litigators, and leaders. I have enjoyed all of my experiences here and I know I made the right choice in choosing Mizzou Law. I would love to help you in your search to choose the right law school for you. Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you!
