Financial Aid
Most law students finance the expense of law school through savings, summer earnings, and low interest educational loans. Some scholarship aid is also awarded, primarily based on academic merit. Students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to receive federal educational loans (MU's school code is 002516). MU's priority deadline for filing the FAFSA is March 1st.
MU is a Direct Lending institution, meaning that students receive their federal educational loans directly from the U.S. Department of Education versus choosing a bank or educational lender. Law students are eligible to receive $20,500 per year in federal educational loans regardless of need.
Loan funds are administered by the Office of Student Financial Aid, and the School of Law has a designated advisor, Jeff Turnbull.
Mr. Turnbull is available at the School of Law on Monday & Thursday afternoons from 1-4:30 p.m.
