Kenyon Briggs | 3L

Born and raised in Independence, Missouri, Kenyon double majored in Business Administration and Accounting at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. Kenyon played volleyball for the university and graduated summa cum laude after three years. While at Mizzou Law, both of the articles he wrote as an associate member during his 2L year were selected for publication; one analyzed anti-Airbnb regulations in San Francisco and New York, and the second proposed new SEC regulations aimed at encouraging “open” blockchain development. He will be joining Husch Blackwell’s Corporate, M&A and Securities practice in Kansas city after graduation.

Lacy Heiskell | 3L

Lacy Heiskell grew up in Joplin, Missouri and received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Missouri in 2015. She has always wanted to be an attorney, and after graduation from law school she hopes to work in criminal law. She is very excited for the opportunity to serve as the Managing Editor for BETR during her 3L year.

Cameron Brown | 3L

Cameron Brown Britt is a Missouri Native, and is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she triple majored in History, Political Science, and Classics, minored in English, and received University Honors, graduating summa cum laude. Cameron is a third-year JD candidate at the University of Missouri School of Law, with an anticipated graduation of May, 2019. In addition to serving as Associate Editor in Chief of The Business, Entrepreneurship & Tax Law Review, Cameron enjoys hiking with her husband and dog, and reading historical fiction. After law school, Cameron hopes to go into transactional law.

Larissa Tiller | 3L

Larissa Tiller received her Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in History from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, where she graduated summa cum laude. Since beginning law school, she has worked for the University of Missouri as a research assistant, and at the university’s law library as a circulation desk attendant. In addition, she spent her 2L summer working as a legal intern for the United States Coast Guard in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Alec Larsen | 3L

Alec Larsen was raised in Billings, Montana.  He graduated from BYU-Idaho with a B.S. in chemistry and from Penn State with a M.S. in Chemistry.  He is looking forward to a career in Intellectual Property Law with Shook Hardy & Bacon in Kansas City, MO. He is proud to have been selected as the up-and-coming Layout and Design Editor of BETR.

Emily Crane | 3L

Emily Crane is a third year Mizzou Law student from Springfield, Missouri. Prior to law school, she received degrees in Humanities and Political Science from the University of Kansas, and served as an advocate at the Willow Domestic Violence Center. During law school, she has worked as Rule 13 attorney in the Family Violence Clinic and published two scholarly articles. Her most recent article explored the need for regulation of cryptocurrency exchanges, and the other article analyzed changes to Missouri employment law under Senate Bill 43. After graduation, she will start her legal career as an associate with Seigfreid Bingham, P.C. in Kansas City.

Taylor Shortal  | 3L

Taylor Shortal is a dual degree-seeking student at the University of Missouri School of Law and the School of Journalism. In 2009 he graduated from David H. Hickman High School and in 2014 he graduated from Fontbonne University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Columbia Missouri.

Taleah Britsch  | 3L

Taleah Britsch was born in Yuma, Arizona but grew up primarily in South New Jersey and graduated high school in Northern Kentucky. She returned to Arizona to earn her B.S. in Health Policy from Arizona State University. Taleah is currently pursuing a dual JD/Master of Health Administration. The dual degree program’s combination of both law and health administration curriculums allows her to continuously develop her interest in health care issues. During the summer after 1L year, she interned with the Office of General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Kansas City. During the summer after her 2L year, she interned with the legal department of Lancaster General Hospital, affiliated with Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. She looks forward to serving as an Associate Managing Editor on BETR’s Executive Board this year!
