For those of you interested in competing in the Client Counseling Competition this semester, there is an informational meeting on Monday, October 10 at 1:00 in Room 6. If you have not competed in this competition before, this meeting is mandatory for at least one partner on your team. Professor Lande will give a brief presentation on client counseling tips and how to be successful in the competition.
The competition is set for Monday, October 17 through Wednesday, October 19 starting at 7:00pm each night. Sign-ups for the competition will begin on Tuesday, October 11th outside the BOA office. 3Ls may sign up at 7:00am, 2Ls at 7:15am, and 3Ls at 7:30am.
If you are not interested in competing, but you would still like to be involved with BOA, this competition also presents the opportunity for students to act as clients or bailiffs. If you are interested in being a client for this competition, I would recommend that you also attend the meeting on Wednesday. Sign-ups to be a client or bailiff will also begin on October 11th at 1:00 p.m. outside the BOA office.
I encourage everyone to sign up for this competition. This is a great way to build your skills for meeting and communicating with clients.
If you have any questions, feel free to email Client Counseling Director Brandon Bardot (firstname.lastname@example.org) or stop him in the hallway.
