Client Counseling Competition Bailiff and Client Sign-ups

Good Afternoon!

Sign-up sheets have been posted on the table outside the BOA office for anyone who would like to sign up to be a client or bailiff for next week’s Client Counseling competition. The competition is Monday the 17th through Wednesday the 19th beginning at 7:00pm each evening. We encourage 1Ls and 2Ls in particular to sign up as bailiffs and clients. This will be advantageous in your application for candidacy to the Board of Advocates.

Those who sign up to be clients must serve as client for all competitors in a given room. So client will need to be able to be present at 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00 on the night in question. Being a client is a great way to get involved in BOA and to see the client counseling process first hand. Clients can be as dramatic or as restrained as they choose. This is a great way for someone with a theater background to show off your skills and have fun.

Bailiffs are also needed. Once again, participating as a bailiff is a great way to get involved with BOA. You may sign up for as few or as many rounds per night as you want. Be sure to show up at least 15 minutes prior to your round for an informational meeting. Bailiff duties consist of keeping time during the round and holding up time cards to let the competitors know when the end of the round is approaching.

Last, there are still spots available to participate in the competition. They will go quickly so sign up as soon as possible.
