Mount Zion Church

Mount Zion Church was located in Hallsville and was the location of one of the earliest battles of the Civil War in Mid-Missouri. The defeat of the Confederates at Mount Zion Church in December of 1861 is credited with cooling the “secessionist ardor throughout northeast Missouri.”
