Professor Frank O. Bowman III - Floyd R. Gibson Missouri Endowed Professor of Law

Professor Bowman joins the faculty from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis, where he served as the M. Dale Palmer Professor of Law. Following his graduation from Harvard Law School in 1979, Professor Bowman entered the U.S. Department of Justice as part of the Honor Graduate Program.

He spent three years as a trial attorney in the Criminal Division in Washington, D.C. From 1983 until 1986, he was a deputy district attorney for Denver, Colo. He also spent three years in private practice in Colorado.

In 1989, Professor Bowman joined the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida, where he was Deputy Chief of the Southern Criminal Division and specialized in complex white-collar crimes. In 1995 and 1996, he served as Special Counsel to the U.S. Sentencing Commission in Washington, D.C. From 1998 to 2001, he served as academic advisor to the Criminal Law Committee of the United States Judicial Conference.

Michael Spillane - University of Missouri JD Candidate 2011

Michael Spillane graduated Cum Laude from Xavier University in Cincinnati in December of 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts. He majored in Political Science and minored in Communications.

After graduating from Xavier, Mike worked for Club Essential, a web page design company based out of Cincinnati, working in sales and customer service. He decided to leave Club Essential in August of 2008 in order to enroll at the University of Missouri School of Law.

Mike joined Prof. Bowman's research staff in the Spring of 2009. His task focused mainly on the design and maintenance of a website to efficiently display the results of Prof. Bowman and his staff's research into the legal history of Columbia and Boone county during its infancy.

Mike is on schedule to graduate from the University of Missouri with his J.D. in May of 2011.

Eoghan Miller, University of Missouri JD/MPA Candidate 2012

A native of Columbia, Eoghan received his undergraduate degree from Westminster College in nearby Fulton, Missouri. Eoghan graduated from Westminster with a Bachelor of Arts degree and majored in History and Political Science.

Before entering law school in the fall of 2008, Eoghan completed a Masters degree in American history at the University of Missouri. Eoghan is on schedule to graduate from Mizzou’s dual degree program in May 2012 with a Juris Doctor / Master of Public Affairs (JD/MPA).

In addition to serving as a member of Professor Bowman's research staff, Eoghan is also an officer in several law school organizations and serves as the Truman School of Public Affairs’ Grant Writing Program Coordinator.
