Event Description : The Commencement speaker will be Judge Gerald Bard Tjoflat of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Judge Tjoflat is the longest-serving, active federal court of appeals judge. He earned his law degree from Duke University School of Law, after which he practiced law in Florida and served on the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida in Jacksonville. Judge Tjoflat was also nominated by President Nixon to serve on the United District Court for the Middle District of Florida and by President Ford to serve on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Subsequently, he was reassigned to his present position on the Eleventh Circuit.

Tickets are not required for the event and there no limitation on the number of guests that may attend. The Class of 2014 will gather at the Law School in Room 7 at 11:00 am and Jesse Hall’s doors will open at 12:00 pm for guests. Parking is available in the Turner Parking Garage and in Conley Parking Garage. Immediately following the Commencement and Hooding Ceremony, there will be a reception in the Hulston Hall East Courtyard, where cookies and punch will be served.
