PAMELA FAITH MUDUWA IS WORKING WITH UNITED NATIONS MISSION IN LIBERIA
Pamela Faith Muduwa (formerly Pamela Mafabi) (LLM ’03) is working at the United Nations with the Legal and Judicial System Support Division of the Mission. She is helping Liberia build a strong legal and judicial system under the rule of law after many years of war. She said that ADR is part of the agenda, which it makes it a lot easier because the legal-judicial system has been non-existent in many parts of the country.
LYNN MALLEY HAS BEEN SPEAKING, WRITING, AND EDITING ABOUT SERVICE MEMBERS AND VETERANS’ ISSUES
On March 12, Lynn Malley (JD ’84, LLM ’03) presented a day-long symposium to the staff of Hunter College in New York City about the cross-cultural transition issues facing service members as they return to the civilian and higher education setting. She has been invited to speak about meeting the challenges of this same cross-cultural gap at a meeting of the U.S. Soldiers Foundation in Monroe, LA on April 29. Along the same lines, Lynn has served as one of the editors and contributed a chapter to the upcoming book on service members in higher education, Improving College Education of Veterans.
SALVADOR PANGA IS WORKING FOR THE ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK
Salvador Panga (LLM ’01) was recently engaged by the Asian Development Bank as its ADR consultant for the Philippine justice sector in order to help the Supreme Court, the Department of Justice and the Department of Interior and Local Government move their respective ADR agenda and programs forward. This work is in addition to Salvador’s’ own practice in the Philippines, serving as Secretary-General of the Philippines' commercial arbitration center, and consulting for the Asia Foundation, CIDA, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines to design, develop, manage and evaluate various ADR programs.
