TEXAS COURT OF APPEALS CITES PROF. JOHN LANDE ABOUT COOPERATIVE AND COLLABORATIVE LAW
In In re Mary Lynn Mabray, issued on Aug. 31, a majority opinion of the Texas Court of Appeals cited Prof. John Lande’s writings about Cooperative and Collaborative Law. The Court held that Cooperative Law agreements are enforceable and do not violate public policy.
GERARDO PICO BECOMES ADMINISTRATIVE LAW JUDGE
On Aug. 29, Gerardo Pico (LL.M. ’00) became an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) in the Administrative Law Judge Corps of the Unites States assigned to the Social Security Administration’s Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. ODAR is an appellate administrative court that reviews the decisions of the Social Security Administration, mainly in disability cases. It has 150 offices nationwide, including a new one in Columbia, MO, and there are approximately 1,000 active ALJs assigned to ODAR.
