INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF MEDIATORS HONORS PROF. LEONARD RISKIN
On May 9, the International Academy of Mediators, a very elite group of mediators, bestowed its Award of Excellence on Prof. Len Riskin. Prior recipients have been quite prestigious: Attorney General Janet Reno, Former CIA and FBI Director William Webster, and founder of the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution Jim Henry. The Academy graciously invited LL.M. faculty and students to attend the dinner. Profs. John Lande and Art Hinshaw, and LL.M. students and alumni Suzanne Curran Carney, Maureen Dickmann, Pamela Muduwa Mafabi, Lynn Malley, Carol Marinho, Sharanya Rao, and Huiqun "Cindy" Zhu all gave moving testimonials about Lenís contributions to the dispute resolution field and to them personally.
PROF. JEAN STERNLIGHT PUBLISHES ARTICLE ON SYSTEM OF ADR
Prof. Jean Sternlight published an article entitled, "ADR is Here: Preliminary Reflection on Where it Fits in a System of Justice," 3 Nevada Law Journal 289 (2003). This article synthesizes insights from apparently conflicting views of the ADR field.
AAA PROGRAM ON DRAFTING AGREEMENTS

The Florida chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts is sponsoring the Florida Parenting Coordination Training and Legislative Forum. The Forum will be in Orlando, FL on Aug. 15-16.
WORKSHOP IN ONLINE DISPUTE RESOLUTION
OCT. 1-3, PITTSBURGH, PA
A workshop on online dispute resolution will be part of the 5th International Conference on Electronic Commerce, which will be Oct. 1-3 in Pittsburgh, PA. The paper submission deadline is June 1.

AFCC FALL REGIONAL CONFERENCE

The Fall 2003 Regional Conference of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts will be in St. Louis on Nov. 13-15. This conference entitled, "High Conflicts, Low Budgets," is about collaborative, cost-effective and preventative interventions for separating and divorcing families.
