Tamar first became interested in law when she participated in a mock trial competition in high school. However, she decided to go to nursing school instead, but while attending a nursing conference she met a nurse with a J.D. and the encounter sparked her interest in law school again. Tamar chose to go to Mizzou Law, because of the many opportunities to get involved in different student organizations. Also going to school in Columbia appealed to Tamar, because of its family-friendly environment. She is involved with the Black Law Students Association, Tax and Transactional Law Society, Healthcare Law and Policy Club, and Student Ambassadors. Tamar is looking forward to using her law degree to practice health law.
