Why Being a Dreadful President Is an Impeachable Offense: A (mostly) dispassionate analysis

March 14 @ 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm

Mizzou’s very own expert on presidential impeachment, Professor Frank Bowman, will be giving a presentation next week: Wednesday, March 14, Room 6, at 1 PM.  Professor Bowman will speak about why the proper scope of constitutionally impeachable conduct is broader than the current common understanding. He shall examine the text of the Constitution, the original understanding of the impeachment clauses, the precedent of the Johnson, Nixon, and Clinton impeachments, and expound upon notions of a living constitution to explain his conclusion.

Please join us to ask questions about how the impeachment process works. to see if Professor Bowman can answer the question of just what the heck is an emolument, and whether a President’s illegal, immoral, or stupid acts even matter when Congress refuses to rebuke him.

Pizza lunch will be provided for law students and faculty.
