The Gist of It – “Presence: Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges” by Amy Cuddy

January 23 @ 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm

As a busy law student, you probably don’t have time for much outside reading, and if you did, reading a professional self-help book might not be your first choice. No worries! In our new series, The Gist of It, we will provide you with all the important points of a ‘hot’ book in just 50 minutes.

Our book for January 23 is “Presence: Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges” by Amy Cuddy.

Have you ever left a nerve-racking challenge and immediately wished for a do-over? All too often, the very moments that require us to be genuine and commanding instead cause us to feel phony and powerless, leaving us to approach our lives’ biggest hurdles with dread, execute them with anxiety, and leave them with regret. Learn how Cuddy teaches us to access our personal power and achieve “presence”, the state in which we stop worrying about the impression we’re making on others and instead adjust the impression we’ve been making on ourselves.

Law Students Only. Pizza will be provided, and this program qualifies for professional development credit.
