“The Law of the Land: A Grand Tour of Our Constitutional Republic”
The James D. Ellis Distinguished Lawyer in Residence at the University of Missouri School of Law
March 22, 2016
Room 7, Hulston Hall
In his latest book, The Law of the Land, Yale University Professor Akhil Amar argues that the U.S. Constitution looks slightly different in California than it does in Kansas. He illustrates how geography, federalism and regionalism have influenced some of the biggest questions in American constitutional law. Join us as Professor Amar discusses his latest work and presents a special lecture on how the Constitution also differs in Missouri.
Professor Amar is widely considered one of the preeminent constitutional law scholars in the world and his work has been cited in more than 30 U.S. Supreme Court cases. He has published numerous law review articles and books on the U.S. Constitution.
