Gift Societies

The Law Society

In 1984, the Law School Foundation created The Law Society to recognize the strongest supporters and major financial contributors to the School of Law. Members of The Law Society are preeminent alumni and friends of the School of Law who have pledged themselves to ensure that the educational and professional leadership, which the School has provided since 1872, will continue for the benefit of future generations.

Legacy Club

In cooperation with MU Legacy Society, a special School of Law Legacy Club has been formed to recognize planned gifts made to the Law School.

By including the school in your estate plans and sending our Development Office a copy of the applicable portion of the document, you are qualified for membership in the Law Legacy Club.

Testamentary gifts include bequests by will or trust or by beneficiary designation (such as in a donor’s retirement plan, IRA, life insurance, annuities, pay-on-death and transfer-on-death designations, etc.) and other gifts received by reason of the death of the donor.
