In conjunction with its 2012 Symposium, Environmental Justice Issues in Sustainable Development, JESL is excited to announce the “Current Issues in Environmental Policy and Sustainable Development” Essay Competition. Sponsored by the MU Sustainable Environmental Policy Network, this essay contest calls for submissions from both graduate and undergraduate students. Submissions should be about 2,000 to 3,000 words and address local, state, national, or international, policy issues relating to environmental protection, renewable energy, sustainable development or relate themes.
First-prize and second-prize graduate/professional essays will be awarded $1,000 and $500, respectively. First-prize and second-prize undergraduate essays will be awarded $600 and $300, respectively.
Winners will be notified prior to the symposium, and the winning graduate/professional essayist will be asked to present her/his essay during the symposium at the University of Missouri School of Law on the morning of March 9, 2012.
Unfortunately, the submission period has closed. No more submissions will be accepted for this year’s essay competition.
