This week at the Law School, the Career Development Office is sponsoring three important workshops. On Monday, November 26th, Jennifer McGarr will be presenting a workshop at 1:00 in room 7 entitled “2L Winter Break Job Search” that will provide strategies for second year law students on how best to utilize their winter break to search for a summer position. Tips on how to maximize networking events, informational interviews and electronic resources to land a summer internship will be covered.
Then on Wednesday, November 28th, Ms. McGarr will present a second workshop “3L Winter Break Job Search” at 1:00 in room 7 that will provide more strategies to assist third year law students with their job search for a full time position after graduation.
Another important event for third year law students will occur on Thursday, November 29th. The Missouri Bar Exam Character & Fitness Information Session will be held at 1:00 in room 7. The Executive Director of the Missouri Board of Law Examiners and another member of the Board, Karen Jordan, will be coming on campus to discuss the Character & Fitness process that is a necessary part of the application to the Missouri Bar. A choice of Career Component or Professional Development Credit will be given for attending, however, all 3L’s planning to take the Missouri Bar Exam, should attend this meeting. The information in the presentation will assist students in filling out the application over winter break. If you have already applied early for Character & Fitness as a 1L or 2L, you may still want to attend the meeting to learn about the necessary updating process, and other important details regarding your application.
