This week at the Law School there are many events planned that you won’t want to miss! On Monday, January 28th, Bloomberg Law will sponsor a workshop at 1:00 to 1:50 in room 7. Did you know that Bloomberg Law has information that could help you land a job? Everything from job search strategies and tips for summer employment to finding background material on legal employers is available on their resource. On Wednesday, January 30th the Career Development Office will sponsor “Public Service: Federal Employer Panel” at 1:00 to 1:50 in the Courtroom. The Panel will consist of six attorneys that work in the following agencies: Housing and Urban Development, National Labor Review Board, Defense Contract Management Agency, and the Social Security Administration Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. The panelists will talk about their jobs and how they practice law within their respective agencies. If you have an interest in government work, take the time to attend this event and see the variety of legal careers available. On Thursday, January 31st, fifteen Mizzou Law students will be heading to the Midwest Public Interest Career Conference being held at Northwestern Law School in Chicago. On Friday, the students will be attending several site visits including: the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, the Law Project of Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Office of Civil Rights, the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metro Chicago, and the Legal Aid Society. That evening a networking event with Mizzou Law alumni in the Chicago area will be held at Fleming’s downtown. Saturday, February 2nd, students will have interviews for full-time and summer opportunities a the Career Conference.
