At the Law School on Monday, February 18th there will be another “Life of a Lawyer” luncheon at 1:00 in room 107. Kristen Paulsmeyer ’04, former Enforcement Counsel with the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions & Professional Registration in Jefferson City, MO and current Legal Counsel, for the Missouri Office of Administration will be on campus to have lunch and a discussion with students interested in public service. The “Life of a Lawyer” series brings attorneys to the law school to meet with students in small, informal settings. The attorneys typically talk about their path to and in the profession and respond to questions from students. It also serves as a good opportunity to network. On Tuesday, February 19th, Women in the Legal Profession Networking Lunch will be held. This monthly event is held in St. Louis and are usually informal gatherings normally attended by 8-10 attorneys active in the Bar. The lunch will be held at 400 Olive. Dean Key has room for 3 students in her car if you would like to go and need a ride, please let her know by registering in Symplicity. Usually they leave around 9:30 am and return by 3:30 pm.
On Wednesday, February 20th at 1:00 in the Courtroom, first year law students will be able to attend the Crahan Fellowship Informational Program. The Judge Lawrence G. Crahan Memorial Judicial Fellowship provides a financial award for Mizzou law students to serve as judicial clerks to a judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. The clerkship runs for eight weeks during the summer following the completion of the first year of law school. This fellowship is made possible through the generosity of Ms. Linda S. Legg, currently retired, the former Senior Vice-President, General Counsel, and Secretary of AT&T Advertising Solutions. At the program on Wednesday, students will learn details about the fellowship, as well as hear from previous fellows about their experience. Lunch will be provided so please RSVP through Symplicity.
