This week at the Law School we have many interesting events to participate in, starting on Tuesday, March 19. We will have another “Life of a Lawyer” luncheon at 1:00, but in Room 204. First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Boone County, Tracy Gonzalez, will be on campus to share her career path and her job with students. On Wednesday, March 20th in the Tech Suite (Room 111) there will be a special Federal Government Webinar entitled “What Happens After My Application is Submitted?” The webinar will be given by people in the government who do the hiring. Students will learn insider tips on how to get their applications seen and learn the best way to follow through. There is limited seating in the Tech Suite, so it is important to RSVP through Symplicity. The time for the event is 12:00 to 12:50 as it is being broadcast from Washington, DC. Career Development credit will be available.
Also on Wednesday, March 20th, we are hosting a special event “Working Together: Cyber Crime Taskforce and the Prosecutor’s Office” at 1:00 in room 4. Andy Anderson with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Merilee Crockett with the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office will explain how they team up to successfully prosecute child pornography and child endangerment cases. On Thursday March 21, Chief Justice Rodriquez of the Supreme Court of the State of Pohnpei will be in the Courtroom from 3:00 to 4:30 to talk to students about “Internship in Pohnpei”. Pohnpei is located in the Federated States of Micronesia. Judge Rodriguez is visiting Columbia for the purpose of finding a summer intern for this summer. Don’t miss this great opportunity!
