Hi all! I’m back reviewing another great online resource. Today I have been looking through the site for the Presidential Management Fellows Program (PMF). This is a two-year leadership program created for entry-level advanced degree candidates. It includes classroom training and a developmental assignment that can last for several months. At the completion of the program there is a graduation that takes place in Washington, D.C. Furthermore, Presidential Fellows are considered federal employees and compensated as such.

The site details the rigorous application process of the program and requirements for applicants. I will post a link to the application process below. Those selected as PMF finalist must then secure a position with a Federal Agency. PMF has a job fair specifically for finalist to secure positions. Agencies will have a PMF coordinator that will coordinate working within the agency and participating in the leadership program. There are placement opportunities within engineering, criminal justice, foreign policy and many more.

PMF has a listserv that anyone may join that will keep you updated with information like when the application will open for the Fellows of 2014. All those with interest in effecting change in government should absolutely look into the PMF program. The website has tons of valuable information and video to give a peek into the program.
