This week at Mizzou Law students have two opportunities to talk and network with alumni in a small setting  through the “Life of a Lawyer” series which brings attorneys to the law school to meet and talk to current students.  Join us Monday, March 3rd at 1:00 in room 107 for Shakespeare’s pizza and a fascinating discussion with Monty Platz (’03).  He is an Assistant Attorney General, and he travels the state representing Missouri in jury trials of Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) cases.  Mr. Platz will talk about his path to his current job and respond to questions from students. The luncheon is also a good opportunity to network.  Attendance is limited so please RSVP through Symplicity.

On Wednesday, March 5th, join us for “Life of a Judicial Law Clerk” at 12:15 to 1:15 in room 204. Have you thought about clerking for a judge, but not sure what a law clerk does? Did you know there are opportunities to clerk with specialty courts? Join the three law clerks for the Judges on the Court of Appeals for Veteran’s Claims for a small-group discussion of these and other topics.  Lunch will be provided, so please RSVP for this event through Symplicity.

A session regarding Summer Externships with State Government will be held on Friday, March 7th at 1:00 in the Courtroom.  We are excited to offer a new opportunity for students interested in externships in Missouri State Government. Mr. Jack McManus, an attorney with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, will be teaching a specialized externship course this summer that focuses on legal employment within state government.  Come hear about what he has planned and the types of placements available.
