Hello Mizzou Law! This week students have multiple opportunities to participate in the “Life of a Lawyer” series which brings attorneys to the law school to meet with students in small, informal settings. The attorneys typically talk about their path to and in the profession and respond to questions from students. These intimate events are a great opportunity to network. Attendance is limited and lunch is provided.
On Monday, March 17th, at 1:00 in room 107, join us for our first “Lunch with a Lawyer” of the week. Meet entrepreneur Brent Beshore, ’09, founder of adventur.es. Adventur.es is a venture capital and private equity firm based in Columbia that co-founds and acquires businesses, providing capital, strategic planning, operational support, and relationship development. If you are interested in using your law degree in a non-traditional way, don’t miss this wonderful discussion! Please RSVP through Symplicity.
On Wednesday, March 19th at 1:00 in room 107, have lunch and visit with Dale Smith (’96), Senior Litigation Counsel with BlueScope Steel North America in Kansas City for another “Lunch with a Lawyer”. Mr. Smith was previously employed as an associate with Lathrop and Gage. BlueScope Steel will also be conducting OCI interviews the same day. This is sure to be an informative discussion – don’t miss out! Space is limited and lunch will be provided, so please RSVP through Symplicity.
On Thursday, March 20th, we have two events. FBI Special Agent Melissa Morrow, ’94, will participate in “Lunch with a Lawyer” in room 107 at 1:00 pm. This event is closed. If you would like to be put on the waiting list, please email Linda Lorenz (lorenzl).
The second event on Thursday, March 20th is “Lunch with a Judge” at 12:00 in the Courtroom. Enjoy lunch and visit with US Bankruptcy Judge Dennis Dow. Judge Dow will be holding Bankruptcy Court in the law school the same day, and he has agreed to speak to students and faculty in an open forum. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in federal bankruptcy court! Lunch will be provided, so please RSVP through Symplicity.
