The American Bar Association’s Judges’ Journal recently published a new article, “The U.S. Supreme Court Fellows Program: The Opportunity of a Lifetime,” 53 Judges’ Journal 27 (Winter 2014), by Prof. S.I. Strong. The article provides an in-depth look at the U.S. Supreme Court Fellows program, including descriptions of the Fellows’ various responsibilities as well as information on the four host organizations — the Office of the Counselor to the Chief Justice of the United States, the Federal Judicial Center, the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts and the U.S. Sentencing Commission.
The discussion also covers the application process, which has recently changed, and opportunities that can arise during and after the fellowship. Prof. Strong spent the 2012-2013 academic year as a Supreme Court Fellow in the International Judicial Relations Office of the Federal Judicial Center.
