West Academic has published the fifth edition of Children and the Law: Doctrine, Policy and Practice, the lead author for which is Prof. Doug Abrams. One prominent reviewer has called it “an excellent casebook that really does justice to the forgotten children in ‘children and the law.’ The [authors] have sought out the best cases, created the best problems, and provide the most artful selection of legal and social science materials making it possible for teachers in this area to probe crucial issues and provoke thoughtful discussion.”

The book, whose first edition appeared with its 450-page teacher’s manual in 2000, is used in approximately 50 law schools.

Prof. Abrams also co-authors Contemporary Family Law, a West Academic casebook whose fourth edition will appear in mid-2015. At about the same time, the fifth edition of his Children and the Law In a Nutshell will also appear.
