The 2015 Missouri Law Review Symposium, “Policing, Protesting, and Perceptions: A Critical Examination of the Events in Ferguson,” which took place on February 27, was covered by the Columbia Missourian and KOMU 8.

The articles covered the speakers and attendees’ reactions to the discussions. The Columbia Missourian highlighted the moment of silence for Michael Brown that started the symposium’s events and the discussion about social issues, such as “housing discrimination, unemployment, mass incarceration and lack of access to education,” that formed the basis for the unrest in Ferguson.

Both articles also discussed the conversation about policing and race, including the issues surrounding body cameras and judicial processes.
