The Mizzou Law Board of Advocates recently completed its annual Mediation Competition. Congratulations to the first-place team Alison Matusofsky and Brandon Gibson and runners-up Alana Caruso and Ariel Kiefer, who are all first-year Mizzou Law students.

According to Gibson, “Alternative Dispute Resolution plays a big role at Mizzou Law. Mediation is a great option for parties that need to resolve a dispute while continuing their relationship. Practicing the skills required to represent clients in these situations has been fun and informative. Hearing feedback from current practitioners is especially helpful.”

“This competition has been an amazing experience,” Matusofky said, “because we were able to learn so many mediation techniques and we got feedback from practicing attorneys and professors. We are really excited to compete in St. Louis against other schools, and we hope we can bring a win back for Mizzou!”

The first and second place teams have a chance to compete at the regional competition in March at Washington University in St. Louis.
