Voter Duty Focus of Op-Ed by Professor Bowman

August 19th, 2016

Prof. Frank Bowman

Professor Frank Bowman wrote an op-ed for the Columbia Daily Tribune in regards to voter duty in the upcoming presidential election. He argues that either Clinton or Trump will win the presidency, and it is the duty of the American people to vote and help determine the course of the country over the next four years.

“Anyone who suggests voting for the Green or Libertarian Party out of a fastidious distaste for the undoubted shortcomings of both Clinton and Trump, or in pursuit of some nebulous higher principle, is asking you to abandon the most basic responsibility of democratic citizenship, which is to make the wisest choice one can among imperfect, and sometimes unappealing, alternatives,” writes Professor Bowman.
