Law School Faculty Lead Discussions at Legal Education Conference

Eight members of the Mizzou Law faculty led discussions as speakers, panelists and moderators during the Southeastern Association of Law Schools 2016 Annual Conference.

Professor Gary Myers was a panelist on a workshop covering scholarship and book creation, “Discussion Group: Writing and Publishing a Book.” Associate Dean Paul Litton was panelist for a discussion group, “How Is Philosophy Relevant to Law?”

Professor Frank Bowman was a panelist on a criminal law workshop, while Professor Randy Diamond was a panelist on a workshop focusing on legal education, “Preparing Students for Solo and Small Firm Practice.”

Professor Larry Dessem moderated a deans’ workshop, “What Deans (and Associate Deans and Faculty, Too) Should Know,” and also was a speaker for another deans’ workshop, “Is There a Recovery in Your Future?: A Candid Conversation Between Deans and Former Deans.”

Professor Carol Newman organized and moderated a workshop on teaching, “Discussion Group: Strategies for Designing and Integrating Transactional Simulation Capstone Courses into the Curriculum,” and Professor Rigel Oliveri organized and moderated a discussion group, “Has Fair Housing Law Gotten Its Groove Back?”

Professor Richard Reuben participated in a workshop on legal education, “Incorporating Mindfulness into Legal Education.”
