Hi! My name is Brooke Wheelwright and I am a 3L. I am originally from Elizabeth, Ill.; I promise you’ve never heard of it, but it is arguably the most beautiful part of Illinois. I received my undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Coe College, a small liberal arts school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Both my hometown and my undergraduate institution were very, very small, so I was a little apprehensive about the transition to a much bigger school and campus. I had a great undergrad experience at Coe College, and I really valued the relationships I created with my peers, faculty, and staff while I was there.
I worried that at a big school I would become “just a number” and wouldn’t have the opportunity to form these same types of relationships. I couldn’t have been more wrong! After meeting the admissions staff, professors, and students on my visit to Mizzou, I had no doubt that I would be surrounded by people who would help me succeed.
Throughout my 1L year, this was only been further confirmed. My fellow classmates are people that I can collaboratively work and study with, as well as some of my closest friends. The professors are genuinely concerned about the success of their students, and they are more than willing and open to help. Mizzou will also provide you with countless opportunities to be involved in anything, and everything you may be interested in. Personally, I could not ask for a better environment!
I know that I have definitely chosen the right place to receive my law degree, and I am continually excited to see what this journey has in store for me. If you have any questions or just want to talk about Mizzou Law, don’t hesitate to contact me, I’d love to be of help.
