My name is Cory Lee I am a 3L at the University of Missouri. I am originally from Farmington, Utah and in the last nine years I have lived in Utah, Arizona, Alaska and now Missouri. Since I graduated from the University of Utah in economics I worked mostly in retail as a manager for a clothing store and as a customer service/sales representative for a wireless company. Knowing that retail was not where my family and I wanted to spend our life, we decided that it was time to go after my dream of becoming an attorney. As I was researching and selecting law schools to apply to, Mizzou was on the top on my list, especially after reading about the open door policy of the faculty and the overall friendliness of the entire law school. Beginning with the call I received congratulating me on my acceptance to MU Law, I experienced first-class customer service. Upon my acceptance to several law schools I was most impressed with the way MU Law quickly responded to all of my questions and concerns. I spoke with the students, professors as well as the admissions staff as I tried to decide where to go to school. The friendliness extends from the professors and staff to my fellow classmates, the atmosphere is one of teamwork and collaboration and not the cutthroat environment you hear about in regards to law school.
As a non-traditional student, with a wife and two kids, it was important for us to have a school that was accommodating as well as live in a family friendly community. Mizzou and the City of Columbia have exceeded our expectations. My son started kindergarten right after moving to Columbia and we have been very happy and impressed with the education he is receiving. The City also has lots of parks, trails and activities that have entertained us as a family and been educational for my children. Choosing a law school was one of the most important decisions my family and I have had to make, and choosing Mizzou was no doubt the right choice for us. I would love to have the opportunity to discuss further why I chose Mizzou. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
