Political Science and History
Hello! My name is Jacob Haskins and I’m enjoying my 1L year here at Mizzou Law. I’m originally from Lamar, MO, a very small town in the Southwestern part of the state. I attended Washington University in St. Louis where I played football while double majoring in Political science and History.
Since about the age of 5 I have known I wanted to become a lawyer. I’m not sure if it was a passion for justice or just the fact that I love to argue, but making the decision to attend law school was easy. What wasn’t easy was deciding where to spend the next three years of my life. Mizzou was always on my radar, but it wasn’t until I made my first visit that I knew this was a place I could call home.
While I don’t know where I want to end up, I know I want to practice in Missouri and no other school offers the opportunities across the entire state and beyond with an alumni network second to none in Missouri. I’ve also discovered a faculty that is not only very accomplished and prestigious, but professors that are extremely approachable with a desire to see their student’s succeed. On top of all that, the thing that really separates Mizzou from the rest is our people. Every school will tell you they have the best people, but I am confident that if you come for a visit you will see why Mizzou is our state’s flagship school.
Don’t hesitate to send me an email if you have any questions and want an honest answer about Mizzou, applications, the LSAT, or law school in general. I will give you an honest answer so you can not only learn about Mizzou, but also make the best possible decision in your application process. Good luck with the process and go Tigers! M I Z!
