New York University
Hi everyone. My name is Kevin Buchanan and I’m a 2L student at Mizzou Law from Leawood, KS. For undergraduate, I attended New York University, graduating in 2015, majoring in Politics with a minor in Creative Writing. While at NYU, I was active in my social fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta. Throughout my time in college, I always knew I wanted to go to law school. Even though I went to undergrad in New York City, I never had much interest in living there after graduation. One of the things that first drew me to Mizzou Law was, simply, the location. For someone who plans to practice law in Missouri, like myself, the legal connections and networking opportunities that Mizzou Law offers cannot be beat.
Mizzou Law is truly a place that needs to be experienced in person. The faculty and students create a friendly and supportive atmosphere that I couldn’t find at any other law school I visited. Mizzou Law provides a small school feel, where everybody in the building knows each other, while at the same time being right in the middle of the University of Missouri campus. As a student you have access to everything the university has to offer such as the student rec center, which is just a short walk from the law school. Additionally, Mizzou Law is located very close to downtown Columbia.
Because I went to undergrad in New York City, I never had the opportunity to truly experience a real college town like Columbia. Columbia has a little bit of everything to offer. And on top of that, there is nothing quite like SEC college football.
Applying to and choosing a law school can be very stressful. If you have any questions or concerns about the process, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
