Drama Theater

Hello! My name is Koki Sabatés. I am a 2L from Prairie Village, Kansas, a suburb of the Kansas City Metro. For years, I pursued my dream of becoming an actor, but decided to take my life another direction. While theatre gave me the opportunity to give a voice to the voiceless—I did not feel that I could truly advocate for people the way I always wanted. Unfortunately, when you create a play, you can only hope to inspire change, it never fully effectuates it. I realized that inspiring the change is not enough, being the change is what is enough. That’s when I decided to pursue a path towards something I always had a passionate curiosity about—law. Once I made that decision I never looked back. My only hesitation was thinking a law school would never give someone with a background in fine arts a second glance.

I am here to tell you that you can come to this law school with any background. If you are serious about having a career in law, come to MU. They have such a practical approach to the skills you need as an attorney. And their alumni network is amazing.

I knew from my first time visiting that this was the perfect fit for me. Everyone here is incredibly genuine. Especially in the way they care for us as students, people, and future members of the bar. I have found all my professors to be incredibly approachable and helpful. My classmates are supportive and talented. The upperclassman generous with their advice and knowledge. This is truly a great place to cultivate your skills as not only an attorney, but human being.

I really hope you come and see our school. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Especially if you are coming from a fine arts background! I’d love to help you transition into the world of law in any way I can.
