University of Missouri
English and Political Science
Hi, I’m Michael Leahy and I’m a 3L from Osage Beach, MO (the heart of the Lake of the Ozarks). In May of 2014 I graduated from Mizzou with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Political Science. My undergraduate career was filled with incredible experiences both in Columbia and abroad. During my junior year I spent six months studying in Manchester, England, which solidified not only my love of travel, but also my desire to work within the international realm. When I coupled my experiences in the UK with my interest in government affairs, it became clear that all the career paths I was considering were going to bring me to law school.
If you’re reading this right now, you’re probably thinking about your own reasons for considering a legal career. Though I’m not a fortuneteller and I can’t predict where you’re supposed to end up for law school, I know you won’t be disappointed with Mizzou. I could tell you all about the tight-knit community of students we have, or the close relationships you’ll be able to make with your professors due to small class size—heck, I could even tell you about how Mizzou’s affordable tuition makes law school a reality for students like myself—but honestly, my best advice is for you to come visit us and see for yourself. If you do, I’m confident you’ll find that Mizzou is the right fit for you.
So please, if you’re interested at all let us know! I’d love to give you a tour of good ole Hulston Hall and show you what makes Mizzou so special. And if you have any questions—whether it’s about the LSAT, what student organizations we offer, or even what coffee shops I like in Columbia, don’t hesitate to shoot me an email! It wasn’t so long ago I was going through the crazy admissions process just like you, and it would be my pleasure to help make it easier for you any way I can.
