First, thank you for checking out my bio! I’m Michael Yenzer, a first-year student here at the Mizzou Law. I’m from Union, Missouri, but Columbia has been my home for the past five years. I’m excited to be here for the next three as well. I graduated from Mizzou in 2016 with a degree in Business – Finance although I had always had an interest in the law. Throughout my undergrad years I was very active in my social fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon; as well as Mizzou Student Foundation. These organizations are the cornerstones of the deep pride I hold for Mizzou and its student body. When I was considering law schools, Mizzou was always a back-up plan for me. However as I traveled across the country to tour law schools, many things about Mizzou really stood out to me.

First, the friendliness and transparency of the law school administration with potential students is unsurpassed by any other law school faculty that I interacted with. Second, there is such a strong sense of camaraderie between students that I almost thought it was too good to be true. You often hear about how competitive law school can be but I’m glad to say Mizzou doesn’t fit that depiction. Every student knows their classmates and students are cooperative and supportive of each other in our mutual endeavor of law school. The smaller size of my class facilitates strong relationships between students. Lastly, the smaller class size allows students to develop real relationships with their professors, which are extremely rewarding and beneficial during school and when looking for opportunities outside of law school.

Mizzou is the largest university in the state and has the clout to back that. Come to campus on a game day in the fall and you’ll witness the deep connection and pride that the university fosters as people from all over come to cheer on our Tigers. Whether you want to work in St. Louis, Kansas City or in Jefferson City with the state government, Mizzou is located in an accessible location to all three of these cities.

My choice to attend Mizzou has been affirmed every step of the way by the values and factors I’ve listed for you today. Don’t take just my word for it though, please come visit Mizzou and experience it for yourself.
