Saint Ambrose University
Hi! My name is Paige Wheeler and I am currently a 2L here at Mizzou Law. I was born and raised in Wilton, Iowa and am very proud of my small town roots. I attended St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa where I received my bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
Law school had always been my goal since as far back as I can recall. The process of choosing where to apply was a bit stressful, but I’m a firm believer in the saying, “When you know, you know” which may apply for many things, but it was most definitely true when I made my choice to come to Mizzou Law. I knew after only a few hours into my visit that Mizzou would be a great fit for me and was without a doubt where I wanted to go.
I ultimately chose Mizzou for my legal education because of the atmosphere here in Hulston Hall. Being from small town and a small undergraduate institution, I was amazed by the tight knit community here at Mizzou Law especially considering that the University of Missouri as a whole is quite large. I quickly learned that by choosing Mizzou Law, I have the best of both worlds. There is the excitement of being at a big school and the activities that stem from that, such as sporting events and our top-of-the-line recreational center, while being a student at the law school involves a close-knit community of classmates who are collaborative and friendly. The faculty and staff truly care for the students and add to the community atmosphere by wanting to help the students succeed. Overall, you are certainly not a number at Mizzou Law. There are so many resources provided to aid in your success and everyone in the law school community wants you to be successful.
Even though I fell in love with Mizzou, I was still hesitant about moving out of state and away from home. Because I grew up in a small town and had never lived more than an hour away from where I grew up, the thought of moving to Columbia seemed a bit overwhelming. However, I was pleasantly surprised how I instantly fell in love with Columbia and all it has to offer. If you have any questions or just want to talk about Mizzou Law, please feel free to contact me, I would love to help.
