My name is Priscilla Nyankson and I am a 1L at Mizzou Law. I was born and raised in Kumasi, Ghana, but I have lived all over the United States (most recently in Kansas City, MO) and my family lives in Georgia. I attended the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN (Go, Irish!) and received my bachelors from the University in 2013.
After completing my undergrad degree, I decided to take time off before continuing on to get my J.D. I initially worked in Detroit, Michigan in the Gallo Winery Management Development Program. After a year, I left Gallo and took a position with Cerner Corporation as an IT Consultant in Kansas City, MO.
I chose to attend Mizzou Law not only because of the quality of education that I knew that I would receive from a truly world-class faculty, but because, unlike most law schools, Mizzou would afford me an environment in which I could grow as a person. This was certainly personified in my communications with the Admissions staff who went above and beyond to show me that at Mizzou, I was more than just another applicant. This is one of the best environments I have ever had the pleasure to study in. While we are certainly challenged through our curriculum, we are also encouraged to give back to the community, and reflect introspectively on what we are being taught.
I feel truly honored to be matriculating with such a talented, dedicated, and genuinely kind class and I look forward to all of the adventures that we will have in COMO and at Mizzou Law.
