At the beginning of February, the Clinic added another member to their growing team!
Sara O’Connor is now serving as the Clinic’s Veterans Service Officer (VSO), where she oversees current clients and the intake of new clients, as well as just assisting the professors/lawyers with the needs of the Clinic.
Sara was born in Fort Myers, Florida. She would stay in her home state and graduate from UCF in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Radio and Television. She would later go on to get her Masters in/of Public Affairs from the Truman School at MU in 2018. Before joining the Clinic, Sara spent several years in non-profit and government communication.
Both of Sara’s grandfathers served in World War II. Her husband is an army veteran as well. Sara has a clear passion for those who have served and helping them understand their resources. The Clinic is elated to have her on board!
“I’m excited to work with the Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic because it’s a great opportunity to combine my nonprofit experience and education in government management with helping the community I care most about: veterans and military families. I look forward to being a part of the Clinic’s continued growth as we expand rural outreach and educate attorneys around the state to help veterans receive the benefits they have earned by serving our country.”
