2022 Missouri Pre-Law Diversity Workshop Series

The University of Missouri Black Pre-Law Students Association invites students to register for the Missouri Statewide Pre-Law Diversity Series held by University of Missouri. Through this series, we aim to provide information to undergraduate, graduate students, and any pre-law students with resources to aid in their preparation for law school and inspire them to apply. These workshops are an exciting professional development opportunity for students of diverse backgrounds. The Missouri Statewide Pre-Law Diversity Series is catered to those in the Midwest region, and will serve as an entry point for students interested in the legal field. To increase accessibility, registration for this series will be free for all attendees. By registering for any or all of these events, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in networking opportunities with law students, legal professionals, and with law school admissions representatives.

2022 Missouri Pre-Law Diversity Workshop Series Events

PWI vs HBCU law student discussion
March 3, 5:00-6:00 pm (CST)
This is a honest dialogue and Q&A about what it’s like to attend a PWI/HBCU law school. Law students come from a wide range of institutions. They’ll talk about their experiences in law school. We believe that learners will have access to resources that will assist them in selecting the best law school for them.

Law School Admission
March 10, 5:00-6:30 pm (CST)
After students have heard from law students. We want them to hear from law school admission committees. It can be intimidating to speak with law school admissions staff as a pre-law student. As a result, we believe that this discussion can assist people in overcoming their fears. Also, to gain knowledge about how to be a successful candidate.

JD Professionals
March 17, 5:00-6:30 pm (CST)
Everyone who graduates from law school may not practice in the legal field. Speakers at this workshop will have done exactly that. Each speaker will share their story of how they got into law school, what it was like in law school, and what they are doing with their JD now.

Law Motivational
March 24, 5:00-6:30 pm (CST)
A judge will speak about his path to law school. His legal careers and what inspired him to continue working in this sector. Naturally, this will provide some impetus for pre-law students to continue on their path to law school.
