The Rural and Entrepreneurial Law Association (RELA) is aimed at providing tools and resources to equip and empower young attorneys to build their own rural or niche practices. “Big Law” is not the only opportunity for a law student to become successful. There are many unmet legal needs in various rural areas throughout the state as well as many new budding niche areas of law. Our goal is to create a state-wide network of mentors and a wealth of support to help students identify under-represented geographic regions or niche areas of law and provide them with the tools and resources they need to become successful. We will build a strong network between rural and urban attorneys across the state through pro-bono work and networking events to help entrepreneurial students identify and take advantage of opportunities. Our vision is for current RELA student members, in return for the benefits derived from our organization, to later become a mentor and source of support for future graduating students. Membership is open to all students.
