Program Description
Learn best practices in arbitration advocacy from experienced advocates and arbitrator members of the National Academy of Arbitrators! This day-long session is Designed for Labor, Management, H.R., attorney and lay advocates. With a minimal amount of lecturing, and a maximum amount of hands-on, interactive participation, you’ll work through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of a tough case with coaching and guidance from seasoned advocates and expert NAA arbitrators.
In working with other attendees on a challenging case scenario, you’ll cover such areas as Winning the Close and Difficult Case, Issue Spotting, Case Preparation, Witness Direct and Cross Examination, Presenting Evidence and Making and Responding to Objections, Handling the Hearing, Persuading the Arbitrator, Remedy Issues and Making Effective Closings.
After you’ve completed your closing arguments and debriefed with our panel of trainers, three prominent NAA Arbitrators Ted St. Antoine, Lisa Kohn and Amedeo Greco will discuss their myth-busting thoughts on advocacy techniques and wisdom, avoiding common mistakes, myths about just cause, and how they decide difficult and close cases. And you will have an opportunity quiz them on these and other topics as well.
